"Are some people literally hard-wired to be sheep?" Yes... yes they are. Just as you were wired to fit into the category you did. You are among the winners of the genetic lottery!

Thank you, sir. You are too kind. Although I wouldn’t be quite so bold as to say that. But thank you, all the same.

I was into the MBTI, once upon a time. I was also into astrology, once upon a different time.

I now consider the two roughly equivalent.

There are so many bits of hilarity in this post that a restack wouldn't do any justice. I'm an INFP, so obviously this points to the "Who Am I" series being universally and objectively one of the most entertaining things to read on Substack. You should take the Enneagram test (my guess, 5w4) afterwards!

Thank you. And thanks for the recommendation, I’ll check it out.

I've found my Myers-Briggs test results to be eerily accurate too. I've retaken it several times over the years to see if I answer differently. I've always gotten INFJ. So our personality types are pretty similar. It's no wonder I like your ideas. Haha

I wonder if we'd find patterns in the personality types we make friends with or associate with if we could ask everyone what type they are.

Thank you. You are too kind.

I am certain that would be case.

I know that I tend to avoid those who exhibit the opposite of many of these traits, for example my lack of interest small talk.

I don’t really hang out with the kind of people who recoil from depth and detail in conversation and they are not the kinds of people I tend to put a lot of effort in to nurture relationships with.

Same can be said of my aversion to sugar-coating things. I like plain speaking, zero BS honesty. Can’t stand people who wear personality masks.

Thanks MJ. I have another Aphantasia article coming out this week inspired by your ‘Dreams’ question. I tag you in it so you’ll definitely see it when it published…

I feel like us INTJs are either born on the internet and/or unusually suited to thriving online, because it seems like the single most common self-declared type I run into these days.

Of course, that could just be selection bias (working on multiple levels)…

Yeah, I suspect you’re right. A set of innate characteristics that are conducive to operating in the online space. Creativity but with a lone-wolf mentality. A desire to delve into subjects to a ridiculous depth. Multiple competing interests. et cetera.

Thank you. That means so much to me. I always stress about my jokes landing more than anything else.

Finally!

I know someone in my life who is an INTJ and has very similar traits. Btw I heard it’s one of the rarest personality types in the general population, though I’m not sure if that’s true.
