Peter, I am sitting in Barnes and Noble with my ear buds in listening to your wonderful song. I like all kinds of music and you're very talented. The song I heard today is a performance piece and would probably be outstanding played at Bar Mitzvah's or weddings where people can dance to the music. If you wanted to play in a restaurant, then they would probably want more standard pieces made famous by people like Sinatra. You might consider including some of the famous songs of the 50's and 60' as part or your repertoire.
Thank you, that means a lot. I got plenty of Beatles, Rolling Stones, Elvis, Kinks, Dolly Parton, Simon & Garfunkel etc in my set already. I also do dozens of Motown covers from The Platters, Marvin Gaye, Temptations, Stevie Wonder, etc.
The 60s is my favourite era of music and I have tended to over rely on it in the past. I’ve been actively trying to add more contemporary music and variety into my set lists recently so I can get more gigs.
But fear not, I will be adding the oldies to my portfolio very soon so watch this space.
I have only ever dipped my toe in jazz. A bit of Etta James. I can do the lounge jazz piano vamping stuff but that’s because it is incredible easy. Great fun though…
The most important part of playing solo is the consistency in timing and the uniformity of all the notes played, especially when doing this kind of arpeggio accompaniment, and you have it drilled down. I played a lot of solo gigs when I was young, and I found people like you more when they can recognize the songs. They also want you to play quiet music like this (depending on the place, of course) but most times at restaurants and lounges, people want to talk, so quiet music like this song you’re playing is perfect. If they recognize the songs, they will come to you at the end and compliment you.
You play so beautifully Peter! Love this.
Thank you. Plenty more like this on the way in the coming weeks

Thank you again
You've got the best in your list, especially the Golden Motown selections.. Do you ever do jazz? I love Coltrane and Davis.

You've got plenty in your repertoire! Can't wait to hear more.
